not to fuel a fire, but i went over to deadhook today to read a bit, as i was bored. There is a whole debate on whether baggy pants should be outlawed. Suddenly it turned into a those who support vs those who want to protect american freedoms. The ones who want it to be banned are the deadhookers, and the others are us the LMA's. Its quite hilarious. I fetch this quote from that article.

"PLEASE ALL LMA PEOPLE GO BACK WHERE YOU CAME FROM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

too funny...

btw... this is not to start a fight. I was thinking about signing up at deadhook, but posts like this make me feel like i dont belong

I don't need a Touch head for a babysitter. The kids can have their DH, with a bitchy moderator supervising them like infants. Likewise let them get the hell out of here too. That NIMBY attitude goes both ways.

Further discussion of Dead Hook can go the way of, "we won't tell you how to hack those SBD streams". Good riddance to their snobby attitude.

I have a life. Don't wanna spend all of my time posting on these websites any way...

Mr. Wolf: I'm really shocked by your reaction to one asshole's comment on a board you were praising just a few days ago. As to the rest of you--same thing. Who fucking cares? Is one comment the way to sum up a board? One man's words the motto of a tribe? Come on, you know better.

Oh, wait, I see: fighting amongst yourselves is no longer entertaining enough; let's go out and fight the neighbors.

There's good and bad there, and there's good and bad here.

And to think that the thread concerned something as trivial as baggy pants. Could have been much worse: could have been about bell bottoms.

Well, it didn't take long for the LMA crew to show them, eh?

i think you misinterpreted me

i wasnt complaining at all or anyting of the like

was only commenting - and if you noticed, i have not joined in one single arguement over there - not ONE!!!

i think it was quite human to be honest with you

i am sorry you interpreted my post here as anything negative - it was anything but... i love deadhook as i love the LMA

im not sure you know me like you think you do - sorry for that GOP - wish you knew me better like some others do here - maybe that is my fault, if that is the case, i am sorry

Nothing. That was my point. But I felt I couldn't elaborate without starting more folks a worrying, so knowing you as well as I like to think I do, just wanted to say that to you, one on one...of course, now I have to read your latest posts...har, har.

I just can't tolerate folks laying the blame anywhere other than with the original poster (the "go home" one) and I got the impression, perhaps wrongly, that you were being accused of having some culpability when all you did was call crap on crap.

Dead On Pig and perfectly put (almost).

But in a way its not trivial, its the begining (or more of the same)of the eroding of personal freedoms in this country. Sure its small but as you see Americans out there are serious about this. Its BUMMER that they call themselves Deadheads too. Clearly I am shocked to see it on a Dead site. I thought Deadheads would be the first people to protest a clothing censorship law but I am wrong again (as usual). Look at what we used to wear in the day? And now Deadheads what to censor a group of people that live differently from us? THATS FUCKED UP GoP and I felt the need to say something.

it doesn't read that way to me, maybe re-read his second post.

And especially when he goes on about "them" showing their ass cracks in his later post. That doesn't sound very pro-baggy pants to me. Besides is that what the dude spends his time worrying about??? What other people wear? Man I have got better things to do. Thats what I meant about the USA too. I travel so much in other cultures and you would just about never hear this petty bullshit we hear in our media everyday. This is nonsense that anyone would care.

It just seems like somewhat of a hypocritical place in my opinion. I've been putting way too much thought, not to mention effort, in trying to figure the hook out. After lurking there for close to a month and posting for the first time last night....

My conclusions are as follows:

a)some of the people really are "kind" and warm
b)some are waaaay too uptight
c)it's what they call a "moderated" forum
d)"moderated"=censored by way of request
e)it's worth lurking for a laugh

I'll lurk there (maybe) and post here.

Hey, don't get too wrapped up by one guys comments. He's the ONLY person who has said negative things directed to LMA-ers. As can be seen by his posts, he's a bit of an uptight guy who is VERY opinionated. There's people like that in every group. Everybody else has been kind to the "llamas" who have come over to the Hook.

Yeah that was weird and outta no where.

Holy crap Stevebo likes telling people what to write and wear! They have doctors and meds for people with these kinds of control issues. LOL Would have made a good dictator! LOL

Fuck it I just thought it interesting that he writes

"PLEASE ALL LMA PEOPLE GO BACK WHERE YOU CAME FROM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

And not one of those people(Deadhookers)over there said a word about it. Just told me I should keep my opinion to myself.

Here see for yourself:

http://www.deadhookforums.com/showthread.php?t=11844

Honestly it changes my outlook on that place. I mean I didn't start the damn thread but I am one that gets told: "we don't talk politics over here". Well the honeymoon is over. LOL

And for a place that doesn't talk politics they sure do have a lot of opinions about Mike Vick too.

Thanks huntr for being the only one that pointed that out.

however let me also point out that I do not think reading that thread is a good defense of your POV

...after all, I prefer the unmoderated gnashing and hashing of LMA. It may be a little Lord of the Flies at times, but overall we pretty much all live on the fun side of the island.(a very poor mix of movie referrences....oh fuckin well).

This place belongs to the citizens. We make the rules.
